We cannot be increasing state spending for anything right now.   That is discriminating against private customers who do pay.  NO!

Who's going to subsidize the taxpayers when they go broke with all these state mandated payments...what exactly is certain government payments...with one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, I don't think it's the unemployed that are the private customers...perhaps it's the State workers and politicians who are the private customers, and they made a deal, don't raise our child care rates, and we'll take care of you ***wink***  ***wink****.

I agree with you, hammerman!  Since Caccierie's State of the State address, this state cannot afford any more spending sprees by this state government!  Why don't they pass House Bill 5436 (2009) that's been only introduced  by Mr. Trillo since Feb. 11, 2009?  That bill would: "Exclude illegal aliens who are not authorized to work in the US from receiving workers’ compensation benefits and to penalize employers who knowingly employ unauthorized workers".  This would have a heavy impact on saving this state's budget problems, now wouldn't it?  Why is the RI House sitting on this bill?  Are they too afraid of being against illegal immigrants?  Geez, let's work on the rights of American born/naturalized legal citizens first before we go any further with illegal immigrants who are costing not only this state but this country millions/billions of dollars in Federal and State aid!   Get on the horn to your local Reps/Senators to get busy on this bill and get it passed and I'll bet the state's budget would start heading into the "blue" instead of "red"!
