This legislation absolutely does NOT place a higher tax burden on new residents. They shall be treated precisely the same as they are now and this is simply false and misleading and I am horrified to see such a misrepresentation of fact.

Higher education comes right after healthcare in terms of runaway costs. Many schools are run like private enterprises but have all the advantages of non-profit exclusion from taxation as well as receiving gifts which result in exemptions from taxation for the donors. I applaud Rep. Ken Carter's efforts and am so grateful that we agree with what I have been advocating for the past seven years. His efforts will make a huge difference to property owners and will be copied by other states in the future. I wish him good luck in passage of the bill. Dr. Harvey Waxman
